You have so many obviously urgent things to do every day that absolutely have to be done. You are under stress at work, the family demands its rights, you have to do some sports and keep yourself healthy, you are supposed to check in with friends from time to time, you also help out in the household and then there are all the surprises of life that you have to react to.
n the evening you are tired and looking forward to some relaxation. You actually know that there are one or more projects and plans that you would like to do.
Maybe it's your own after-work startup, your own eBook, a sports goal, a new language, a savings goal, or even a career goal. That would actually be important, that would be close to your heart. If it weren't for time..... You catch yourself from time to time when you tell your friends "someday I'll do .....". But this "someday" will never come, be realistic! Unless you actively take care of it. You must clearly distinguish between the "urgent” and “wichtigen"things in your life, otherwise it won't work out!
"annual focus". The point here is that you have to find the right wichtigen (non-urgent) things for a year very clearly. If you have more than one project on your list, then you must define the most important (or at most the two most important) and work consistently on these things for a whole year.
The point of this challenge is that you spend a few minutes each day focused on the one or two really IMPORTANT, non-urgent things. After all, these are crucial to the direction in which your life is developing.

Below you will find an example of how I do it.
Regeln der Challenge – So mache ich das!
The first thing you need is a little time out for yourself and your thoughts. Personally, I take one day off a year, hike to a hut, armed with a notepad and a pencil. Already on the way to the hut I think of many things I would like to do and usually I identify the really important things even before I reach the hut. Now I write these down in my notepad one below the other.
When I read the short sentences (for me it's mostly headlines) like this, I imagine everything pictorially and quickly notice the things that trigger my emotions and my passion. I mark these things with a "+".
I repeat this procedure until only one or at most two items remain on my list.
Now I know what I want to work on for a year and I know "why?". If someone were to ask me now, I could describe in excited words exactly what I want to do and why.
But I am not finished yet! I have made the experience that one year is much too long to work on one thing consistently and with constant motivation. So I divide my year into four 12-week periods. Twelve weeks is tangible and manageable and plannable. I consider dividing my annual goal into four smaller intermediate goals and assign these intermediate goals to the respective 12-week periods.
I would like to show you the example of my grip strength tutorial (eBook) exemplary. My goal for the year was to use a concrete example (grip strength tutorial) to create my own eBook, publish it and earn my first money on the Internet. My 12-week planning at that time was the following:
- First block: Experte werden bei der Erstellung eines eBooks: I spent half an hour every day learning about creating and publishing eBooks and writing down the most important points. At that time, I read books, attended VHS courses, watched video tutorials and talked on the phone with people who had already done something like that. After those 12 weeks, I knew exactly how to proceed!
- Zweiter Block: “Become an expert in grip strength": I spent 12 weeks reading articles and books, watching dozens of videos, talking to and taking notes from many climbers and OCR athletes who are better than me about grip strength, and trying everything out for myself in practice. After twelve intense weeks, I had learned so much about grip strength that I knew exactly how it was created and how to systematically build it. AndI had taken valuable notes.
- Third Block: “writing an eBook": This block was the easiest for me, because for this I had made intensive notes for the last 12 weeks which I now only had to put into words and illustrate. After these twelve weeks I had a finished eBook
- Fourth (and last) block: "Publication and monetization": Now I have had 12 weeks to publish my eBook and tell people that there is a high quality eBook on grip strength training for OCR'ers.
I was mega proud! And you've probably noticed that with 4×12 weeks, you still have four more weeks for vacation. And you should also enjoy this free time!
And what does that mean in concrete terms?
This means that you get Life Score points for the following things:
- Define and plan your goal for the year, that ONE thing you absolutely want to do.
- Implementing your project
