RULES
The rules of the Iron Lake Challenge "Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" are very simple. Nevertheless, we would like to clarify them here:
- Sign up for the Iron Lake Challenge Bourgogne-Franche-Comté!
- To complete the Iron Lake Challenge Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and earn the magnificent collector's medal, you must, after registering, walk around the ten largest lakes in this region (see below).
- Bicycles, rollerblades, etc. are not allowed, but you are very welcome to walk or run.
- Each lake must be circumnavigated "in one go". This means that you can, of course, take breaks, but you must complete the loop around the lake on the same day. Naturally, you can spread the 10 lakes over different days. Only do one lake per day, as the goal is also to enjoy the experience!
- We trust that you have completed the circuit around the lakes. However, if you would like to be included in the Roll of Honor, we will need a copy of your GPS tracking. It doesn't matter which tool you use (watch, smartphone, or app).
IMPORTANT NOTE!
- Please note that traffic regulations apply on public roads as well as along paths and cycle lanes. Please ensure you move with care and consideration.
- You perform the tour of the lakes at your own risk. The operator of this website accepts no liability.
- Please note, if applicable, medical advice or undergo a medical examination before starting the challenge. You are solely responsible for your state of health, your equipment, and your physical condition. Giving up on a route is no shame—health always comes first!
Here are a few rules to respect nature during your lake circumnavigation:
- Please respect local nature conservation guidelines.
- Please stay on the paths.
- Please do not make any noise.
- Please do not collect any stones or minerals.
- Please do not pick mushrooms.
- Please do not leave any trash behind.
- Please do not feed the animals.
- Please do not light fires.
- Please do not pick any plants.
This should be clear to all of us, but it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves from time to time.
