However, to get the medal, you first have to walk around the ten largest lakes in England! Only then we will send you the well-deserved medal and the marble! After all, you want to earn them, not get them for free.
How to register:
- Please click on the logo and you will be redirected to the registration page of our partner Digistore24
- You will now receive a registration confirmation
- Now you have to walk around the ten largest lakes in England (see below). Once you have completed the ten lakes, please send us an excerpt from your tracking as proof. We will believe you even without tracking, but you will not be included in the hall of fame.
- After we have checked this, you will receive your well-deserved medal and marble. Easy, isn't it?
RULES
The rules for Iron Lake Challenge England are very simple. Nevertheless, we would like to clarify them once again here:
- Sign up for the Iron Lake Challenge England!
- To complete this challenge and earn the beautiful collector's medal, you must walk around the ten largest lakes located entirely within England after registering. Lakes that are partially located in other countries/territories are not included in this challenge.
- Bicycles, skates, etc. are not allowed, but you are welcome to hike or run.
- You have as much time as you want to cycle around a single lake. You can therefore circle it in stages over several days.
- The Iron Lake Challenge England has no time limit. This means that you can complete the ten lakes over several years.
- We trust you that you have really circumnavigated the lakes. However, if you want to be included in the time ranking, we need a copy of your tracking. We don't care what you use (watch, smartphone or app).
General PLEASE NOTE!
- Please note that traffic rules apply in public traffic areas and along roads and cycle paths. So move with consideration.
- You circumnavigate the lakes at your own risk and at your own risk. The operator of this website assumes no liability.
- Please heed medical advice if necessary or have a medical examination before the start of the Challenge. You are responsible for your own health, equipment and condition. Breaking off a tour is not a disgrace, health always comes first!
A few important rules for dealing with nature during your lake tour:
- Please take into account the local instructions for the protection of nature.
- Please do not go off the trails.
- Please do not make noise.
- Please do not collect rocks or minerals.
- Please do not collect mushrooms.
- Please do not leave any garbage lying around. Quite the opposite. Many of us even collect garbage.
- Please do not feed animals.
- Please do not make an open fire.
- Please do not pick plants.
This should be obvious to all of us, but it doesn't hurt to remember it from time to time.

Windermere
Der Windermere ist Englands größter See und liegt im Lake District-Nationalpark in Cumbria. Die Gegend ist ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet und eine sehr beliebte Ferienregion. Kielder Water
In terms of water volume, Kielder Water is the largest artificial lake (reservoir) in Northern Europe and is surrounded by the largest forest in England. Kilometers of hiking trails invite families and hikers to linger. The complete circumference of the lake is approximately 25 kilometers.

Ullswater
It is said that Ullswater is England's most beautiful lake. The lake is located in the Lake District, in the northeast of the national park of the same name, not far from the Scottish border. Its elongated shape, surrounded by densely vegetated hills and gently sloping bays, makes Ullswater a feast for the eyes. Walking around it is a real pleasure, even if you have to reckon with a distance of around 30 kilometers.

Pitsford Water is an artificial reservoir located east of Brixworth. It is popular with hikers, cyclists, anglers, and other water sports enthusiasts. With 11 kilometers of shoreline, it is wonderful to walk around.

Grafham Water
Just a few kilometers from Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, nestled in beautiful countryside, lies Grafham Water, England's third largest reservoir. The lake is popular with water sports enthusiasts, runners, and hikers. There is a great hiking trail that takes you around the lake for about 17 kilometers.

Bassenthwaite Lake
Bassenthwaite Lake is the third largest lake in England and is located in the Lake District in the county of Cumbria. The lake has been a Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1994. To walk around it, you have to cover approximately 18 kilometers on foot.

Derwent Water
Derwent Water is the fourth largest lake in England and is located in the Lake District in the county of Cumbria. The lake lies at the lower end of Borrowdale, immediately south of the small town of Keswick and thus south of Bassenthwaite Lake. The circumference of the lake is approximately 15 kilometers.

Chew Valley Lake
Chew Valley Lake is a reservoir in Chew Stoke, Chew Valley, Somerset, England, and was opened by Queen Elizabeth II. The reservoir is now home to many rare bird species and is also popular with people. Walking around it gives you approximately 13 kilometers of shoreline.

Derwent Reservoir
Derwent Reservoir is the middle of three reservoirs on the upper reaches of the Derwent River in Derbyshire, England. It should not be confused with Derwent Water (see above). The reservoir connects directly to the dam wall of Howden Reservoir in the north, where there is also a small island. The circumference is approximately 16 kilometers.

Here you can enter your lake circumnavigations quickly and easily and upload the evidence (e.g. a screenshot of your tracking). We will check them and then approve them. Your result is then saved and appears in the roll of honor.

- Register on our site
- Select the lake you are circumnavigating under "Summit/Lake
- Enter the distance you have covered (in meters) under "Length / Mountain height (in m)"
- Enter the required time (in minutes) under "Time needed (in min).
- Enter the date of your circumnavigation under "date"
- Now you can upload the evidence (e.g. a screenshot of your tracking) under "Upload proof (optional)"
- Now all you have to do is SAVE!
- We check your round and release it. Then you will see your result in the ranking.
