Rules
The rules for the Iron Lake Challenge "Slovakia" are very simple. Nevertheless, we would like to clarify them here once more:
- Sign up for the Iron Lake Challenge Slovakia!
- To conquer the Iron Lake Challenge Slovakia and earn a beautiful collector's medal, you must walk around the ten largest lakes in Slovakia (see below) after registering.
- Bicycles, skates, etc. are not allowed, but you can of course go hiking or running.
- Each lake must be completed "in one go". This means that you are welcome to take breaks, but you should finish the lake within a single day. Of course, you can spread the 10 lakes over different days. Do just one lake per day, because you definitely want to enjoy this time!
- We trust that you really walked around the lakes. However, if you want to be included in the time ranking, we will need a copy of your GPS tracking. It doesn't matter to us what you use (which watch, smartphone, or app).
General – PLEASE NOTE!
- Please note that traffic rules apply in public traffic areas and along roads and cycle paths. Therefore, please move considerately.
- You walk around the lakes at your own risk. The operator of this website assumes no liability.
- Please follow any advice from your doctor or get a medical check-up before starting the challenge. You are solely responsible for your own health condition, equipment, and fitness level. There is no shame in cutting a hike short—health always comes first!
A few rules on how to respect nature while walking around the lake:
- Please follow local nature protection guidelines.
- Please do not walk off the marked trails.
- Please do not make noise.
- Please do not collect stones or minerals.
- Please do not pick mushrooms
- Please do not leave trash behind.
- Please do not feed the animals.
- Please do not light open fires.
- Please do not pick the plants.
This should actually be clear to all of us, but it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves from time to time.
